- Prescription Drug Plan is still REQUIRED to avoid future penalties.
- Enrollment in Medicare Part A & B before applying for a Medicare Supplement Plan.
- State Residency is Required in the state of application.

- What is the difference between a Medicare Supplement and Medicare Advantage Plans? Supplement plans typically cover additional expenses and provide more freedom of choice to see doctors and specialists. Supplement plans also have additional premium costs. Advantage plans are typically more limited with HMO networks for primary and specialty care, typically don’t provide coverage when travelling, but don’t have additional premiums.
- What is the monthly premium for Medicare Part B? The average premium cost for Medicare Part B is $121.80 per month depending on income.
- If I’m already enrolled in Medicare Part A, how do I enroll in Medicare Part B? Yes, it is possible to sign up for Medicare Part B even if you are currently enrolled in Medicare Part A. You’ll need to call your local Social Security office or call toll-free 800-772-1213.
- When can I apply for Medicare? You can apply for Medicare from 3 months before and 3 months after your 65th Birthday.
- What is the difference between Medicare Part A and Part B? Medicare Part A covers hospitalization expenses and Medicare Part B covers preventive and treatment services.
- Are tax credits available for Medicare Supplement and Advantage plans? No, unfortunately there are no tax credits available for Medicare enrollees.
- Am I subject to the ACA tax penalty is I am Medicare eligible? Yes, the ACA tax penalties apply to everyone, including those who are over 65 and uninsured.
